BIA is proud to provide an inclusive preschool at our center, The Village in Fresno. We feel at The Village it is critical to embrace the specific learning styles of each and every student. To appropriately support students of different learning styles The Village hires a teaching and aid staff who hold bachelor's degrees in the area of child development, education and psychology. The Village enrolls 25%-30% of each class with children with special needs who are able to benefit from learning from their peers and in a generalized setting. Research suggests that children who are included with peers with special needs benefit twice as much as students who are not in an inclusive setting. Anyone who would like more information on the subject of special needs inclusion should feel free to contact our office.
The Village Preschool operates from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday through Friday. Our program runs August through June, breaking for the month of July.

The Village uses a variety of curriculum resources to support our Monthly themes. All activities are carefully planned and revolve around developmentally appropriate themes incorporating skills and new information in a way which is fun and engaging for the students.
The monthly theme is embedded within each area of the day including art projects, language activities, play themes (e.g., restaurant, school bus), gardening, outdoor exploration and family style lunches.
Each day the students visit both classrooms which focus on different developmental skills. Half the day in classroom 1 focuses on kindergarten readiness, cognitive development, computers and science. The second half of the day is spent in classroom 2 where the focal point is exploration through art, music and dramatic play.
Each student attending The Village the year prior to entering kindergarten is assessed and worked with each week using kindergarten readiness tools from all surrounding school districts. Information such as letter recognition, writing their name, self-portraits and number skills are collected throughout the year. This binder is given to each family as the time nears when they are meeting with their prospective kindergarten teachers and going through their school assessments.
BIA’s preschool is a private pay program.
